Zorient version 1.0 is a freeware program on the Chinese Zodiac that gives a very general look into the 12 animals which form part of Chinese mythology. It is intended as a fun program (animations scattered here and there..) and with it you can immediately find out what animal sign and element you were born under given your year and month of birth.
The traits and inclinations of each of the signs are also given including a brief history and a version of the legend of how it all started.

The freeware version included here is a full working version.

Trouble-shooting information is also included in the help file to assist you where things don't seem to appear quite right after the program is installed...

• Program requirements:
  • windows 3.1, pc 386/25 or better
  • vbrun300.dll
  • additional custom controls (provided)
  • 256 colour display, 640x480 resolution
  • 2 megabytes hard disk space

• Setup instructions:
  • There are 2 files to download: zor1prog.zip and zor1vbx.zip . These are self extracting zip files containing the various runtime files and custom controls required by the program.
  • zor1prog.zip: Create a subdirectory called ZORIENT and copy this file into that subdirectory; then rename it to zor1prog.exe and run it by simply typing zor1prog.exe. It will self-extract all the files it contains. The original file (zor1prog.exe) will remain and can be deleted.
  • the file zor1vbx.zip contains the additional custom controls needed by ZORIENT. This is also a self-extracting zip file. Do as above. The files contained within need to go into your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory.
  • Once you've done these steps, create an icon for ZORIENT and you're ready to go. If you get any problems, drop me a line.

• Registration:
  • ZORIENT version 1.0 is freeware. There is no registration fee although I would appreciate comments.
