Westerly view of Miri Town with the Mega Hotel (tallest white and blue building) in the center of the picture. Behind the Mega Hotel is the Miri river, the peninsula and after that the sea. To the right of the Mega Hotel and halfway towards the edge of the picture, you can see the groyne that is being built into the sea at approx. right angles to the beach. Just to the left of the groyne is where the peninsula will be cut to make a new outlet to the sea.
