Miri, Friday, 7th June 2002
Some 32 3rd year Petroleum
Technology students from the Norwegian Technical University in Trondheim,
Norway, together with their Professor Michael Golan arrived in Miri as part of
an excursioin to Malaysia. Prior to Miri they had been in Keraman, Kuantan and
Kuala Lumpur enjoying both the sights as well as technology.
They
visited Shell in Lutong in the morning and spent the afternoon with us looking
at the rocks along Canada Hill, starting at the location of the Grand Old Lady,
moving to the Hospital Road Outcrop befoor ending up at the Airport Road
outcrop.
Our group comprised of Pedro Barbeito, Norzita Mat-Fiah, Lee
Bor Seng and myself (Philip Lesslar). It was a fun afternoon and the weather
was kind becoming a little cloudy. In the late morning and through lunch it had
still been very hot.
