The Miri Municipal Council's Youth and Adventure
Camp 2001 brought a total of around 30 children and accompanying adults to the
outcrop over 2 excursions carried out on the 10th and 11th November. As part of
this Adventure Camp, the children visit the Miri City Fan, Oil Well No.1, the
Airport Road Outcrop, the Rest House at Tg.Lobang (for some historical
research) and a talk on Local Agenda 21.
They then summarised their
experiences and presented their findings at the closing dinner. On their visit
to the outcrop, the groups were fairly animated and asked questions. Although a
new subject to them, they seemed to enjoy the outing and completed the exercise
successfully.
